I pray that FFvXIII remains PS3 exclusive. The vision behind it is just beautiful. I would hate to see this game fall short of its original vision because it has to conform to the lowest common denominator.
Says the guy who hasn't played them...
Valkyria Chronicles is probably my favorite game this generation.
Splinter Cell Convictin for $40? That's a good deal.
I like the 3-D Ninja Gaiden as much as anyone but it is not on the same level as Metal Gear Solid. Itagaki hasn't done anything to suggest is is close to Hideo Kojima. Itagaki gave us the 3D Ninja Gaiden and the current DOA, which is now almost 5 years old. But, as someone said, Hideo Kojima invented an entire genre.
P.S.
Itagaki retarded the sells of both of those series by keeping them on exclusive to the Xbox platform. Both H&S and 3-D fighters(if you ...
I have co-signed onto comments similar to yours in other articles and I must co-signed here as well. How do not make money off of 1.5 million copies sold? How many copies did they need to sell in order to make a profit?
Heavenly Sword released in Sept. 2007 when the install base was under 10 million. Moreover, it was originally planned as a release title. How many did they expect to sell? I guess they thought Heavenly Sword was going to have a 50% PS3 attach rate after one...
There is no such thing as a computer that can not be hacked. There will never be a computer that can not be hacked...at least, not one that uses software.
In a few months, maybe a year and a half, someone will hack the PS3 again.
P.S.
I don't not appreciate an update that only takes away features and adds not even one feature.
P.S.
I still think this is an April fool's joke.
And if they don't, Microsoft will.
Will Microsoft even allow free DLC to be offered over Xbox Live?
KOTOR 2 did suck balls compared to the original KOTOR, but it was still good. I would rather have Bioware do KOTOR 3, but if they won't do then why not Obsidian.
Or, it could still be an April fool's joke.
@raztad post #1.34
I know that Sony owns Heavenly Sword. My point is that it is/was stupid for Ninja Theory to break the Heavenly Sword relationship. Even if Sony owns the IP Ninja Theory could have continued to develop the game. Studios do that all the time.
Heavenly Sword released in Sept. 2007 that was the worst time possible for a new Playstation IP. The PS3 was $600. The install base was low. Nobody knew how to program for the PS3. The media hated all th...

I'm with you. How do you not make money with 1.5 million in sales.
But now the question is...
"How do you not make money if you know your next game is going to sell 1.5 to 2 million copies?"
Even if they went over-budget with HS, its already done now. The gamers are asking for the sequel and they have a good idea of how much it will sell and they have experience with the platform. They should be able to produc...
Something is NOT adding up. Ninja Theory couldn't make money by selling 1.5 million copies. How many copies do they need to sell in order to make money. I guess they need Halo 3 numbers to make a profit. That is BS. 1.5 million copies is about normal for this type of game. That is about what DMC4 sold, that is more that NG2 sold, more than NGS2, and more the Bayonetta sold. GOW3 is going to sell 2 or three times that much, but it outsells every other game in the genre.
N...
Heavenly Sword sold about 1.4 million according to VGChartz. Granted it VGChartz but it should be close enough. I don't know how much they expected it to sell.
Ninja Theory should face the facts...the only reason anybody cares who they are is because they made Heavenly Sword. The only reason their new game got any pub is because they are the developers who made Heavenly Sword. They should stick to being exclusive developers.
Heavenly Sword 2 would guaranteed ...
I agree with everything you said about Heavenly Sword except for the what you think the biggest flaws are/were.
1) The game wasn't long enough. I agree with you on that, although almost every game this generation is too short. Back when Heavenly Sword was released it got knocked for being too short. If it released today, no one would complain about its length.
2) The combat system needed a little more polish.
The graphics from those Alan Wake screenshots don't even approach Uncharted 2. The screenshots that are the article references show U2 looking better and doing more. The AW screenshots are all set in the dark with everything around Alan dimmed. The U2 screenshots are the daytime, some of them have 3 or 4 moving enemies plus Drake in them. One of them shows Drake hanging from a moving train, a MOVING train.
I think the story is modeled after "Hamlet" not "Romeo and Juliet"
This will happen. The only question is will Sony follow suit with the PS3. The 360 needs to be cheaper than the PS3 in order to beat it in sales. This will give the 360 a much needed price cut.
If the other rumor about MS allowing USB storage is true then they will also eliminate the need for hard drives. That would effectively be a double price cut, because you could by a $149 360 and a $20 USB drive and be done.
I wonder how Sony will respond. Hmmm...
That was quite a bit of ownage.
This does NOT put to rest the fact that the 360 lacks a standard hard drive. Nor does it fix the problems that would be fixed were every 360 to have a hard drive.
What this is is a price cut. I no longer need to buy a hard drive for the 360. I can simply by a $20 4GB USB drive instead.
